Disney Sports Football was released in 2002 for the GameCube (and GBA) - it was developed and published by Konami, of all companies.

I can safely say that Disney Sports Football is better than any Madden (and therefore any NFL) game since at least 2013 - and it's not even close. This is a surprisingly deep game, with actual formations, plays, and somewhat realistic gameplay. It took us a little bit to realize you had to press 'A' when catching a pass (so we look very bad), but this is another GameCube 'budget' title that we can highly recommend, especially as a multiplayer game - thanks for watching!
