CiB Neo Geo Theater - Fatal Fury 2 (Episode 3)
The Neo Geo is a system that not a lot of people knew about back when it first released. Released in 1990 for $599, it's no wonder that very few of us knew someone who had a Neo Geo system. It was made to have a full arcade experience at home - and that it did! The Neo Geo AES was by far the best system out at the time - but you had to pay up! We'll be showcasing whatever Neo Geo games we can get our hands on: the negative to the system is that everything is still expensive to this day, so episodes will sometimes be few and far between until we get more games to try out!
Three episodes in, and we reach our first fighting game. I'm surprised it took this long, honestly. So, if your idea of a good time is to watch two absolute plebs playing a 20+ year old fighting game, boy are you watching the right video right now!
As always with almost anything on the Neo Geo, it's a very responsive game that looks great. The backgrounds in particular are amazing for the time period. I love how you can jump between the background and foreground - the sprite scaling is just awesome. Not too much else to say about this one - a good fighting game that we stink at, losing to quite literally the first person on arcade mode. Thanks for watching!
