Ahhhh, we're back in Skyrim. Just the very thought of wandering through its snowy peaks to the tune of Jeremy Soule's "Far Horizons" is enough to make our bodies relax, our minds unwind and our hands reach for a drink.
And this week, that drink is the Cliff Racer, first devised by Talon-Jei at the Bee and Barb Inn, Riften.
Talon-Jei actually spells out exactly what needs to go into a Cliff Racer, making this an obvious choice for Jack to turn into an IRL cocktail on Experience Bar. The drink is described as being a mix of Firebrand wine (so we've got red wine), Cyrodiilic Brandy (so we've got brandy), Flin, which is a type of whiskey (so we've got whiskey) and ... Sujamma.
Wtf is Sujamma? After doing a thorough amount of research into the drink, Jack decided it feels similar to an Italian amaro. To match the bitterness, the popularity and the red-berry colour present in Sujamma, we've gone with Campari.
INGREDIENTS
1 oz Brandy
1 oz Whiskey
0.5 oz Red wine simple syrup
0.5 oz Campari
0.5 oz Lemon juice
RED WINE SIMPLE SYRUP
Half cup sugar
Half cup red wine
Gently heat red wine and sugar in saucepan until dissolved. Do not boil. Remove from heat after 10-20 minutes. Let cool before using.
