Cold as Hell: Decampaignified | Cold Front | No Failure Runs | Part 1
Thought about running HDest again, but I don't think I've given the other mod setups enough love. Decided to run Cold as Hell today, a multi map setup at that! Cold Front's a pretty neat mapset, mixing ancient temple architecture with a good pile of snow. Some pretty fancy yet intuitive mapping here and there, too. Finding all of the secrets was doable this time around, with no cheap traps attached.
The encounters themselves aren't pretty bad either, which is why I wanted to run it with CaH to begin with. Granted, the second map might be the beginning of where the difficulty slightly pivots down a bit, but that's only 'cause the flamethrower in CaH is such a beast room clearer compared to the vanilla rocket launcher. I guess the only limitation it has is the fact that it can't reach the range that the RL can, but still!
Oh, you might notice a new sound pack here I'm using. Wanted to release something instead of playing with a soundpack that I'm too lazy to look up the credits for. No better solution than to simply nick entirely from one game, eh? Maybe I should do more of that, since I've already done plenty HDest addons. Not sure if I can do any more than odd sound packs here and there, though. We'll see if we see.
