Company Of Heroes 2 Gameplay On Ubuntu Linux (Native)
79Gameplay of Company of Heroes 2 natively on Ubuntu 15.04!
I am using the latest NVIDIA drivers, which are the 355.06 drivers.
I've made sure the Nvidia driver is set to Performance and the CPU governor is also set to Performance. This video was only recorded at 24fps due to the nature of the port being unable to sustain 60fps regardless of settings.
This is a pretty big triple-A rts title, something we've been lacking in the Linux space for quite some time. Plus, it's made by Relic, the awesome guys behind the Dawn Of War rts games I love so much!
The online mode is Linux-vs-Linux only! This means we can't play with our Windows or OS X buddies. Same goes to them. In the end, you'll likely only be able to play with close friends or family you've personally invited.
My verdict: Feral have released what seems to be another stable and fun port, even if rather lacking in the performance department! A more proper performance benchmark should be released later on. Right now, the game is playable, albeit with hiccups/momentary fps spikes here and there during gaming.
I may have made mistakes, and if I have done so, please forgive me and correct me in the comments. I've tried to do this benchmark and review to the best of my knowledge and capabilities.
