As requested, here is a benchmark look at CSGO running on Ubuntu natively and through Wine. What kind of performance difference can we expect?

I am using the latest Nvidia drivers, which are the 349.12 drivers.

I've only included the results from the max settings, to save time and reduce the video duration. You can expect similar results when running CSGO in min settings with these two scenarios.

I am using Wine 1.7.39 with the CSMT patch to try and garner as much performance as possible.

My verdict: While the Wine performance is surprisingly good, it does not come near the Native Linux performance you can get. Having an almost 60-70fps difference continuously makes playing it in Wine not a good idea.

I may have made mistakes, and if I have done so, please forgive me and correct me in the comments. I've tried to do this benchmark to the best of my knowledge and capabilities.

I used GLXOSD for the OSD for both cases.

WARNING: AMD and Intel users will experience different results. It all depends on your drivers and how well AMD and Intel decides to make them.
