Ubuntu 15.04 VS Windows 10 Pro : Dirt Showdown Benchmark on a GTX 680
176This video's focus for the benchmark and review are solely on the performance of Nvidia's driver with the native versions of Dirt Showdown on Ubuntu and Windows.
I am using the latest NVIDIA drivers.
Windows 10 Pro with 355.60
Ubuntu 15.04 with 355.06

I used the absolute lowest and highest settings for both test scenarios. The only apparent difference is in AA, where Nvidia's Windows driver reveals QCSAA, whilst only revealing MSAA on Ubuntu.
On Ubuntu, Nvidia is set to Performance and the CPU governor is also set to Performance. For Windows, it is set to High Performance.
When setting the Anti-Aliasing to the exact same setting on both platforms, VP has made the Linux port keep up neck-to-neck performance with the D3D native Windows version.
My verdict: Virtual Programming have outdone themselves this time. A wrapper port that can beat native D3D on Windows is amazing! AMD and Intel users will likely fare quite differently, since both companies aren't aiming for Enthusiast performance on Linux like Nvidia is. If you haven't got the game already, this is an insta-buy!
