This video's focus for the benchmark and review are solely on the performance of AMD's driver with the native versions of Dota 2 Reborn on Ubuntu and Windows.

fps_max was set to 1000 and V-Sync disabled so that no artificial limit was put on the frames that could be achieved per second.

Timeline:
1. Intro 0:00
2. Benchmark Results 0:33
3. Side-by-side comparison (Max settings) 1:25
3. Summary 3:52

The following AMD drivers were used:
Windows 10 Pro with Catalyst 15.7
Ubuntu 15.04 with Mesa 11.1 RadeonSI

The graphical settings options are identical on the Windows version and the Linux version, so each test was reproducible on each system exactly.

GLXOSD and FRAPS were used solely as OSDs (frame counters). I recorded my screen using my Canon SX50HS Powershot camera, so that performance would not be affected.

On both systems, I am running Dota 2 Reborn in it's 64bit version. OpenGL is being utilized on both systems, at the request of Windows users not wanting an API difference despite DX11 support existing.

All hardware on this computer is the same. The game is being run from a 1TB Western Digital Green Caviar HDD on both systems, so no hardware discrepancy should exist.

On Ubuntu, the CPU governor is set to Performance. For Windows, Power Settings is set to High Performance.

Minimum settings here means everything that can be turned OFF or set to LOW was set to OFF or LOW.

Maximum settings means cranking everything ON and to the Highest setting possible, with the exception of V-Sync which was kept off.

My verdict: The results here really did surprise me. My past benchmarks with the r600g drivers have always showcased AMD's Linux support being far behind their Window's support. This is a first in my book, and to be truthful I'm excited. Whether this scenario will hold true with any other game though, only time and testing will tell.

I may have made mistakes, and if I have done so, please forgive me and correct me in the comments. I've tried to do this benchmark and review to the best of my knowledge and capabilities.
