Continuing to work the two groups in tandem, Neosekken eventually brings the survivors of Class 2-9 down into the deepest reaches of the school where the remains of the Girl in the Red Dress lie. But they continue to meet resistence along the way, with the vengeful spirit almost succeeding in bringing the two groups into conflict with one another, first by revealing that Naomi was possessed and killed by the Girl in the Red Dress, then attempted shortly after to turn Yoshiki and Satoshi against each other when Satoshi decided to pursue the spirit in anger.

When this attempt to bring conflict among the other survivors failed, the Girl in the Red Dress decides to start attacking them more directly in an effort to force them into complying with her demands, but before another member of the group bites the dust the spirit's other, more benevolent half intervenes and saves the students. However, the benevolent spirit's actions end up draining too much of her strength, and before she fades she gives her remaining power to the survivors in order to help them defeat her other half.

Empowered, and determined to see things through to the end despite the losses they've suffered, the survivors of Class 2-9 descend into the very bottom of the school, where they have their final confrontation with the vengeful spirit...
