In the distant future, humanity has colonized many planets throughout space, many of which successfully acquired their own independence from any other human colonies and organizations across the galaxy. So far, about more than half of the 200 colonized planets have acquired the right of self-government. Unfortunately, the religious corporation known as ORUGANERA, which has total dominance over Earth & possesses overwhelming military and economic power, has been pushing its influence around the galaxy and forcing many of these colony plants to conclude treaties with the organization & Earth and join the "Planets' Union of Justice". In the language of ORUGANERA, the Union's goal is to "unite and administer all the Peoples of Space".

Planet Hornet is one of the planets that's chosen to rebel against ORUGANERA, not willing to give up its independence after finally achieving a single united republic after hundres of years of internal conflicts. In response to Hornet's rebellion, the Planets' Union of Justice makes its intent to subjugate Hornet known, and they send the giant battleship called the "DANTE" to forcibly take over Hornet.

This brings us to the present, where Neosekken takes control of the game's main protagonist "Jutah Fate", a former soldier/military weapon who was sentenced to 300 years in prison after the collapse of the military government that created, trained and used him and its replacement by the new Republic. Jutah is a man who's been emotionally broken by all the war crimes he's committed during his time with the military government and, as he himself puts it, only cares about following whatever orders he's given. He and a small group of fellow prisoners are recruited by Hornet's Republic government to engage in an infiltration & assault mission on the incoming DANTE, and are promised to be released from their sentences if they successfully help destroy the battleship.

It doesn't take long for the actual act of infiltrating the DANTE to go wrong, and the ship Jutah and his team are on is shot down, forcing them to crash land on the giant battleship and begin their assault while they all scramble and try to regather their forces before they are all taken out by the DANTE's vast military presence. Thus begins Neo's assault on the DANTE - and as soon as he's allowed to get to work, everything around him begins to burn...
