Creature From the Black Lagoon Pinball Review
Designed by John Trudeau and released 1992 by Bally, this table recreates the events of a 1950s drive-in movie date. The object of the game is to collect the film letters to initiate the movie sequence. From here you need to find the creature, rescue the girl, and score a super jackpot. The table features two ramps, two flippers, 4 drops targets, a scoop in the middle called the snackbar, a whirlpool leading to the right in-lane that can really test your patience, and 3 bumpers that can be used to crank up the super jackpot, which are cleverly placed underneath lane dividers whose lights can be toggled, creating a fun minigame. And there's plenty of other events you can trigger like super mode, move your car, unlimited millions, and one of the best video modes . The coolest feature during the initial release was the creature hologram located inside the table. Which hasn't translated quite as well to digital . Neither has the slides, like are they transparent or what am I looking at? One of best trait of Creature From the Black Lagoon pinball is it's sense of humor. It pokes fun at itself, and jokes with you about how ridiculous the whole thing. They also offer five throwback tunes from the 50s and some great voices and sound design. Overall, Creature from the black lagoon pinball is a silly table that's easy to enjoy. Does anyone have one in their basement? Does the hologram still work? And if you haven't tried one yet download Farsight Studio's pinball arcade and subscribe to my channel if you want more .
