Cubic Figures 2 Review - Challenging Puzzles, House-Shaped
Ever play Tetris? Cubic Figures 2 is in the same ballpark, but is notably different. It’s a minimalist puzzle game where you take shaped blocks and attempt to place these shaped blocks inside a house-themed area. The blocks all have to be used, and they cannot overlap each other or the edges in order to progress to the next level. As challenging as Tetris is, Cubic Figures 2 actually steps it up a notch, and requires you to really visualize where the pieces need to go in order to work. They go one specific way, and there are no second options – so you have to really think “outside the box”.
You can rotate the blocks but not flip them, and this is what makes some of these puzzles rather challenging. There is a hint option, though, if you get stuck, and that helps to ease the tension you might feel if you do happen to get stuck. There are fifty levels, all house-themed, to work your grey matter, and the game’s aesthetic is calming and peaceful.
Developed and Published by DillyFrame, Cubic Figures 2 is a puzzle game that released May 19th, 2023 for Playstations 4 and for the Nintendo Switch. For this review video, I played the Playstation 4 version on my Playstation 5 via backwards compatibility.
