What Lies in the Multiverse: A Puzzle Adventure With Dark Humor and Wit
0In What Lies in the Multiverse, you play as a Whiz Kid who, while working on his computer, accidentally destabilizes the multiverse, resulting in him getting transported to another universe – and is rescued by Everett, who is a scientist of sorts that is knowledgeable about the multiverse and reluctantly agrees to take the whiz kid on as his apprentice. The ability to swap between parallel universes is a big part of gameplay, and makes fast reflexes and quick thinking mandatory to progression.
While the art style might not be for everyone (it is pixelated, after all), and the story is pretty linear in nature, it excels in its balance of dark comedy and witty narrative. There are a wide array of characters to meet and talk to throughout the Wiz Kid’s journey, and his adventure not only teaches him about life in the multiverse, but about human nature as well.
Right now, What Lies in the Multiverse is available on Steam for PC as well as the Nintendo, Playstation, and Xbox storefronts for $14.99, if this is the type of title that interests you.
