Cyber Spin Game Sample - SNES/SFC
A mediocre, simple arcade-style top-down racing game that is a significantly watered-down version of its Japanese counterpart, Shinseiki GPX: Cyber Formula. The changes were likely made as the game was originally based on an anime, which North America and other areas didn't have the rights to. In the game, you race around the world in a variety of different countries using futuristic cars, earning points to win a championship and racing qualifying laps to get a feel for the real stage (though you MUST place a certain time in order to advance, unlike most games). You can make sharp, accurate turns using the top buttons at the expense of a little speed, or you can use the control pad which offers less stability but you maintain your speed. You can also use some of your power (which is diminished by crashes and such) to speed boost. Stages have pitstops to restore your power too.
The U.S. game has simplified stages and lacks any real modes, and feels pretty generic. The Japanese game has two extra modes, a story, cutscenes, eight playable characters, secrets, and more intricate stage designs.
