When the time comes, River Ward will contact V to invite her to spend some time with him and his family in gratitude for helping save the life of his nephew Randy .
V knows she doesnt have much more time left alive so she does more gigs and explores the rich mansions of North Oak.
The day of the final Street Car Race in Night City arrives. V will have to decide whether to help Claire carry out the revenge she promised her or simply try to win the race.
In one of his multiple jobs V ends up accidentally meeting Joshua Stephenson , she was supposed to eliminate him , but things go wrong and Joshua , a convict accompanied by a police officer and a Corpo woman , insists that V to accompany him for a day .
V doesn't understand what is going on but soon realizes that Joshua is a thief convicted of murder who has embraced religion thanks to his victim's sister. He is determined to immolate himself, to be crucified like Jesus Christ to set an example for the criminals of Night City. All this will be recorded in a public neuro in the Fourth Wall Studios. That is why he is accompanied at all times by the Corpo woman, Rachel Casich who works at Fourth Wall , and the police officer.
Encouraged by messages from Johnny Silverhand, V decides to get involved in the case, so Joshua quickly grows fond of V. Joshua seems determined to record the neuro as he is crucified and nothing seems to change his mind.
The day arrives when V must go to her date with River Ward and his family. River reveals V that he was unable to kill "Peter Pan", the serial killer who was about to kill Randy and many more victims on his farm.
V spend a pleasant day in the company of River and his family, and when night falls everything rushes. River feels very attracted to V , as she does to him , and she knows that she has little time left in this world to enjoy herself, so she gives in to passion and makes love with River.
The next morning, although they had a good time, V feels remorse because she really is in love with Judy and tells River in the softest way possible that she can't have a serious relationship with him despite being about to die. River seems to accept it despite he is for sure hurted in his feelings .
Shortly after, V goes to Judy and tells her what happened, begging for her forgiveness. Once again, Judy's empathy with V is wonderful and she forgives her infidelity. They affectionately make love and their relationship continues.
The events in V's life also continue. On a visit to a quality clothing store, Jinguji, she finds herself involved in the attack of a cyberpsychopath that she will have to get rid of before he kills more people.
V acquires an apartment in the Corporate District of Night City, a base that will allow her to do more gigs and jobs in the central area of the city, such as at the Empathy Club or the 7th Hell Club.
Time to pay a visit to the 6th Street gang at the Rancho Coronado Dam. There the 6th Street gang celebrates a party and V will make sure that everything ends in a crazy shootout.
V will meet a strange clown-like character with a grenade stuck in his nose named Ozob.
Shortly after, V meets an underground neuro salesman who promises V an unforgettable experience for a somewhat high price. But it is a trap of the Scavengers who want revenge on V for what happened long ago during the first chapter when V and Jackie saved Sandra Dorsett from his clutches.
V finds herself in the same abandoned apartment where they wanted to kill Sandra and now she is the victim. Naked and with her bare hands she will have to kill all the Scavengers and get out of there unharmed.
Finally V manages to save herself from the trap
But V is now very furious and goes in search of the Scavengers throughout the city, but not before pay back a visit to the scammer who was about to have her dismembered by the Scavengers . V decides to spare his life, but not before giving him what he deserves.
So V spends the seventh chapter taking advantage of the day and night, because her time is running out and she must start making decisions about how to face the end very soon now .
