Dark Souls 3: Always Running (Raw Clip)
Running, why is it always that everyone runs? I know a lot of people disliked it but I think the variable running speed from Dark Souls 1, based on weight ratio, was a great way of at least creating a dynamic in running. If you had a low carry weight you would run a little faster and your pursuers would struggle to keep up if they weren't using a low carry weight as well. Should they hit you though than you'd really feel the hit from having very minimal defenses.
Since DS3 doesn't have such a system and everyone runs at the same speed, when someone chooses to just run away it becomes a very stupid game of waiting for the other person to mess up or to stop running. Your only real hope in catching up is that you're able to better cut corners than them and maybe utilize a shortcut better than they can.
