DARK SOULS III DLC Demon in Pain/from Below/Prince (Meteor Version) NG++ SL1 Blind (Flawless)
This boss is very challenging, especially if you are trying not to take any hits! You will need to be very familiar with all of the boss's attack patterns. I'll try and explain what I did, and what to keep in mind during both Phases. Also, whichever Demon you kill LAST in the first Phase will determine which type of attacks the Demon Prince will have in the second Phase. So, if you kill Demon from Below last you will fight a Demon Prince that shoots a laser (easier version). On the other hand, if you kill Demon in Pain last then the Demon Prince has a meteor attack (harder version). We will take a look at the harder version in this video. If there is enough demand I may do a video for the easier laser version in the future.
Phase 1: Prepare to get ganked by both Demon's! This phase, like in many in the Souls series, depends on you keeping an eye on both of them at ALL times. What they are doing? They can both attack you at the same time regardless, if one is charged with fire or not. They like to take turns being buffed on and off. Your goal is to defeat one as fast as you can. This makes the fight much easier. Try and pull them apart before you attack one by running away. The hit box's in this phase are relatively narrow, so learn their attack patterns and you should have no trouble with this phase. Their longer combo's such as at (1:13), will be best handled dodging towards them under the legs where it is safe, then staying to "the Demon's" right to punish its attack. This phase works well unlocked so you can keep an eye on both Demon's at once. You should also focus on getting the stage set for the battle with the Demon Prince by baiting the Demon's to knock down the pillars and walls. This decreases the obstacles that often lead to your demise
.
Phase 2: Demon Prince has many of the same moves as the previous two Demon's, but still some new ones. The most challenging attack in this phase is the Meteor attack. When he shoots his gust of wind with his wings, stand between the meteors shooting fireballs (7:30). It will shoot two from the left, two from the right, two from the left then GO as it shoots to the right. Run to the left in a 45 deg angle for a couple seconds, then run to the right at the same angle until you see the fire behind you. Turn back to the right and hit the Prince until he is staggered. This will cancel the meteor attack of doom. If he ends up closer than usual "due to the wall being really close" then wait a cycle before running in this pattern. (Cycle meaning, instead of running on the start of the 4th cycle you would start on the 6th).
1 - 2
3 - 4 - Start running when far away
5 - 6 - Start running when close
7 - 8
Once you get this strategy down pat, most of the fight is pretty straight forward. Remember to stay relatively close to him when he does his Homing Fireball (9:07), so you can dodge it. For the Slamming attack (9:00), all you need to do is sprint away. Locking works well in this Phase because there is only one to fight to concentrate on.
