Anor Londo is a long area, so this is a long video. I love this area. There's a lot of nostalgia present. I'd heard of the infamous Anor Londo archers before coming here, but in my mind's eye, I kept seeing a long hallway with two archers guarding a door, which is nothing like what's in the game. I hadn't watched anyone play through Dark Souls to that point because I wanted to stay blind to it until I did it myself.
Anor Londo Archers - I see speed runners approach the archer on the right and bait it into doing its stepping stab to fall over the side, but I'm no expert. In the first cycle, I had a Short Bow and Poison Arrows and I waited until it was dead. For every other cycle, the Dragonslayer Greatbow works wonders. You can see that I don't have the stats for it, but I use it for the knockdown effect, not for damage. If you don't have the Ring of Fog, both of them will keep shooting and never stop, making it much more dangerous to snipe them. Make sure you have it if you want to play it safe.
Ornstein and Smough - I always kill Ornstein first, because I find Super Ornstein to be much tougher than Super Smough. The Silver Knight Shield has decent lightning resistance, but you can use any medium shield with 100% physical resist and survive - the Tower Kite Shield is a good one. I try to always keep an eye on Ornstein, bait his swings, and if I know that Smough isn't going to do something, hit Ornstein when he finishes. Occasionally I'll break lock on if I need to see both of them. Let them break the pillars and use them for cover! That's a great strategy to get some breathing room for healing. I kept Super Smough behind a broken pillar the entire time I was fighting so that I wouldn't have to risk myself against his hammer.
Did you know that I did a base class no healing challenge video for this fight back in 2012? The video starts at 35 seconds in because YouTube doesn't have annotations anymore. Here's the link:
