Dark Souls part 12 finale - Kiln of the First Flame
1This is the end of a nostalgic NG4 playthrough that I did of Dark Souls in 2020.

This is hardly a perfect fight against Gwyn, but it makes it a bit more exciting that way, eh? Anyway, I find it remarkably easy to parry Gwyn's two handed attacks because they're so slow, but his one handed attacks come out so fast that I often end up with a partial parry. I'm used to fighting him at NG7, which is why I kept a little bit back from him. A single kick to your fully upgraded Black Knight Shield at NG7 will break your guard with 40 Endurance at full stamina.
It takes 53 Poise to withstand a two handed greatsword hit without staggering, and that's why I'm using the Wolf Ring here.
I like both of the endings in this game. The Dark Lord is the one I almost always choose, and prefer, but the DLC made the Dark more sinister than the original game with its heroic music and worship. For Link the Fire, look at how bright the explosion gets compared to Dark Souls III's Link the Fire ending - quite a stark difference.
