0The confidently designed and ruthlessly challenging retro dungeon crawler Darkest Dungeon has made a pretty big impact on the PC scene during the last few weeks, and it's truly heart-warming to see such a philosophically and aesthetically old school gaming experience capture the imagination of a lot of people who wouldn't normally identify as fans of traditional WRPGs. The much-hyped system of character traits and quirks which develop organically throughout the campaign is indeed clever, and the game mechanics seem really well-thought-out and implemented in general even in this Early Access stage of development. The addition of new environments, classes and quests will surely only make the game better in the weeks and months ahead, but the game is already eminently playable and well worth €20.
