Released as part of「PROJECT VELOCITY」, I am proud to present a newly preserved prototype build of Dave Mirra Freestyle BMX Maximum Remix for PS1! This build is labelled "Beta PAL" and is seemingly dated to 2nd April 2001 (going by a date found in the SLES file, as annoyingly almost all files on the disc lack modified dates), around 15 days before the final game builds. There's a pretty decent amount of differences in here, which I have listed below:

*INTRO.STR is still the FMV from the original game rather than the altered Maximum Remix version.
*A Demo loading screen is present, seemingly a leftover from the OPSM demo build.
*This build contains a seemingly scrapped language select which pops up after the Intro FMV and has a dedicated menu section, featuring the choice of English, French or German. All final builds only seem to include English as a language option.
*The German translation is incomplete, with the trick names and level intro text still in English and only a few handfuls of goals translated into German.
*The French translation is also incomplete, with the trick names and level intro text still in English and only a few handfuls of translated goals.
*Menu music loops are still the tracks from the original game, rather than the different loops from Maximum Remix's final builds.
*Licensed music (MUSIC.ZSD) is the same track selection/file as the original game, the final version of Maximum Remix swapped out several tracks for new ones.
*Challenges menu (and as a result the in level goal lists) have many text differences, varying from spelling / grammar errors later fixed for the final game up to actual goal changes.
*Greenville - Vail Trails Pro Challenges has a changed goal, "use the trailer to disaster on the fence" rather than "use the trailer to no hand tabletop over the fence".
*Pro Tour - Sleepy's Ditch Pro Challenges points goal is 70,000 points rather than 65,000 points.
*Pro Tour - Sleepy's Ditch Hardcore Challenges has a different placeholder goal, "grind over the logs (temporary objective) (left trail)" rather than "Do two no handed tailwhips by the Specialized banner".
*The Movies menu text is larger like in the original release, however it is placed more similarly to Maximum Remix's final builds.
*The in level sfx ambience is missing from Carnival, Jiffy Market, High School, Freeway Off Ramp, Remix, City Square and Ski Resort.
*Sound effects are missing for the interactable level objects in Jiffy Market, High School, Freeway Off Ramp and Ski Resort.
*Hometown - High School has an extra third roadblock outside the locked Pool doors which was removed in the final builds.
*The skybox on Greenville - Vail Trails is still the higher resolution version found in the original game, the final Maximum Remix builds downgraded it's quality.
*Woodward - Lot 8 is oddly missing the reverb on the sound effects compared to all final builds, and has what seems to be a misplaced ambient track.
*Woodward - Remix has additional white fence posts in a couple locations on the map which were removed in the final builds.
*Some additional trees are located in the out of bounds map outskirts of Woodward - Remix which were later removed.
*Pro Tour - San Jose, Acclaim Max Games - Westward Cliffs, Acclaim Max Games - Pier 10 & Acclaim Max Games - Shilo Dunes still have the ambient crowd sounds found in the original game, the final builds removed these from the ambience tracks.
*Pro Tour - City Square has a smashable window which was removed in the final game, it has no proper hitboxes and when broken completely breaks the level's visuals and collision.
*Pro Tour - City Square has some altered geometry on one tall building compared to the final map.
*EIGHTEES.STR and LUNCH.STR character ending videos (for the 80's and Lunchlady characters) are missing from the game files.
*CREDITS.STR is still the FMV from the original game, rather than the updated credits found in the final builds.
