Firebugs - 13th June 2002 Prototype
0Released as part of「PROJECT VELOCITY」, I am proud to present a newly preserved SCEE Preview Version prototype of Firebugs for PS1! Despite being dated around a week shy of two months before the final PAL build, the prototype here is surprisingly close to being finalised with only fairly minor changes present. The dev team must have really been on top of things!
The differences I have managed to spot with this build include:
*Placeholder music placements throughout the majority of the build (all tracks are present & final on the game disc but only a fraction play in game), the only areas where the music matches the final game is the menu, credits and all the Bonus challenge tracks featured in the Practice menu.
*All of the barriers in the Droids Graveyard point to point course are missing, which I assume were a late QA tweak to make this course easier.
*The options menu Controller Settings page has a smaller UI box for the Vibration On / Off setting, the final game extended it to stand out more.
*The empty padding CDDA track is missing.
*Sony Europe's section in the Credits is much shorter than the final game's lacking several sections entirely, and in some cases credits differ from the final game.
