In this video, Deathbringer, released in 1991 for the Atari ST by Empire Software.
A very loooooooooooong in-game intro tells us that a demon has been trapped in a magic sword called The Deathbringer and that sword has been taken by Karn the Barbarian. Together they bring death and destruction in their mission to kill the evil wizards of the land and illing and maiming things give Karn more life energy to endure all the wounds he can take.
The game sports an impressive number of parallax that make the game look almost perfect; the animation are very good too and the digitized audio is well made. Too bad the programmers IMHO spent too much time programming the parallax effect, instead of focusing on the gameplay. After the initial "wow" effect the game shows itself as a normal horizontal slasher with nothing new to keep you glued to it.
