It seems it's pointless to charge up that fusion cannon. 2 charged shots kill a fusion hulk, while you can do the same with 4 uncharged ones, same energy consumption. Although quad 4 wins in both damage per second and in energy efficency too.
Tap firing can be done accurately, and it seems to kill all mechs except the toughest ones in one shot.
I run through the official levels in v1.0 but doing the LOTW in a patched version. Probably they buffed it a bit.
Probably I shouldn't neglect this gun from now on...
