DFFOO [JP][Shelke LC][Alt Run] I forgot I have Jecht BT, Sazh's guaranteed hits and Noel EX spam
I was looking through guaranteed hits units for a test for this boss and tried out Sazh + Irvine and then it occurred to me that I actually have Jecht BT. He has fire, consecutive turns and rebreaks that help alleviate the problem of having random add spawn turn order and wiping me, so I put him in for a run.
Guaranteed hits on our side:
Guaranteed hits mostly only worth our attention when it appears on the enemy side. It means we have to just suck it up and not dodge it. There are not many enemies with (perfect) dodge other than random little bats, cactuar, the add summon ghost and this helicopter and most of the time it doesn't warrant any guaranteed hits to deal with them. So it is kind of a mechanic on some characters that gets glossed over.
Sazh, Irvine (S1), Maria's Proper Shot, Rosa's aim (look at all these shooters) Cyan and some others have this "rare" mechanic on their movesets. For this helicopter boss, if your orb is going down really fast during the add phase, you can actually use these moves to uptick the orb.
Sazh has this on almost everything except S2 and LD, even his BRV/HP attacks can hit the boss. Given his EX recharges with one skill use and they have high turn rate, with fire enchant he can constantly uptick the orb with his EX even though the add is out.
Jecht:
As it turns out despite being C80, his BRV dmg is still going quite strong without UW and EX extension. The turns used for this team is not amazing but he still gets the job done in this day and age.
To be fair, his S2 is still quite good with 4 HP dumps. He probably just need some more dumps on his S1, EX to be more turn efficient and he is good to go again. His BRV dmg is solid that the rebreaks are functioning really reliably.
Noel:
Long time no use Noel, because they keep throwing bosses that resist breaks lol. I haven't seen him on Bahamut crack before so here he is.
One EX from him would take out 50% of the add's health, and his Fear Siphon automatically perfect gravity shave the add/boss's initial gigantic BRV gain and convert it into a free EX. So this is quite the Noel paradise.
Bahamut summon gives him additional EX uptime during his BT phase, so he can spam even more and kill things quickly with 1 mil+ a pop. I was going to throw Ramza in there just to shorten the runtime, but they were doing fine, so I left them as they were.
Not anything game breaking or particularly amazing, just some experiment on more obscured mechanics and a good place to get some use out of characters that are not so recent. They still get the job done within the time / turn limit.
Probably nothing more unless some wonky ideas come up until Sice's Event. No preference for pulling atm until I see if she is unique enough for pulling.
