DFFOO [JP] C90 Fran AoEing with Sazh and Lyse
27Fran and Sazh were suffering from low BRV dmg when their LD came out. Now with her C90 and rework, Fran is actually quite a decent dmg dealer.
What Fran was about when her LD came out was her compact yet multi-faceted debuff that goes up to 10 stacks. She later became more of a CA support later even though her CA is gimped because she was not really capable of reaching cap BRV dmg. This is not the case anymore with her C90.
Her C90/ rework calibrated all of her attacks to 4 HP dumps, which is actually on the higher end of support character dmg average. LD and S1 now has splash, EX and S2 are both split attacks. Fran is a strictly BRV dmg dealer, and she does not have a lot of BRV hits, so she would need BRV cap up or HP dmg up to compensate for that.
Luckily, her C88 comes with a party-wide BRV cap up and ATK up. On top of that she has an additional party-wide 30% BRV dmg and 20% HP dmg up added to her EX buff by her C85 extension. So not only her BRV dmg and overall dmg potential got upgraded, she party support is not limited to her debuffs.
Fran and Sazh actually makes a really good team. Sazh helps her a lot with her low BRV hits and split dmg. Quite convenient that both of her current shortcomings require solution for 1 parameter. As she has 4 HP dumps all across the board now, if you supply her with your ordinary HP dmg taken up CAs, her EX and S2 roughly do the same amount of dmg, same if it is capped. So using Ifrit may be technically better for her (S2 / EX both gets the benefit) instead of EX spamming with Bahamut if she is the only factor for consideration. All 3 of them successfully wiped 3 targets with split dmg before the orb could trigger without a BT aura and this Lufenia+ still has 80% reduction.
With her dmg update, we can freely put her around and enjoy the full effect of her 10 stacks of Viera Punishment. As a call it may not be the most effective CA anymore with Seymour, Laguna, Irvine etc out there, but at its full glory it includes a large variety of benefits at high potency all rolled into a single debuff. So it is still a very valuable thing to have when Fran is on the field.
I only have Yuna on LD level, but I would probably wait for Lulu to smash Seymour later.
