DFFOO [JP][Divine Bahamut][LD only alt run] Papalymo on crack with Bahamut summon + Raines / Steiner
Always wanted to try Papalymo with Bahamut summon, and since he has consecutive turns, why not let him seal Divine Bahamut with a series of Xenoglossy / Firaja / Blizzaja?
Originally started as a Steiner + Kadaj run that makes Bahamut deal 1 dmg all the time, but the runtime was kinda high and it seems that Steiner alone would already shut down the right crystal and Bahamut's dmg, so I tried Papalymo and form a LD only team with Cid Raines.
Papalymo:
To be honest, with Xenoglossy spam Papalymo's dmg is quite nuts especially in this stage. He also comes with the benefit of stopping at your time of choosing with multiple instant turn rate moves: EX / LD / Xenoglossy / Foul and you can save up to 2 polyglot or stall freely for 10 stacks for additional ones. So he is actually really handy for dealing with the fact that Bahamut's textbox message can break your consecutive turns.
If you are too trigger happy with his consecutive turns and forgot when to stop, the rule of thumb is stop using instant turn rate abilities when the orb is lit up.
My Papalymo is at UW+1 but missing 12K from being at HA+1 and another 12K from Steiner who is also at HA+0. If both are at HA+3, Xenoglossy should hit quite close to 700K a pop and further reduce the turns and time needed.
Papalymo + Bahamut summon:
If you start Bahamut summon with Papalymo, you should get 3 free EXs to extend his LD stacking buff. Use all of the polyglots and keep the stacks below or at 6 beforehand so you can spam all of the free Xenoglossy / EX without wasting polyglots. He will get all of the summon turns but your other characters still retain the Bahamut blessing buff, so all you are missing for them are the 10% extra HP dmg cap.
Steiner:
Steiner is actually really good for this stage as well. He reduces HP dmg taken, and the 70% ATK down kill their BRV dmg as well. Technically you can survive a back to back B (right) crystal turn with a HP hit at the end if you put his ATK down onto the crystal, but I would recommend not pushing to the limit and keep them at low BRV most of the time. Laguna CA's ATK down works but it has a bit lower potency when the crystals are not filled with debuffs.
Steiner's field turn BRV regen also works as a fail safe for defending against being broken and messing up turn order / accidentally offering BRV to the right crystal. So Steiner is really good for dealing with the dmg and stage mechanics. It also make Cid's launches better with the only two juiced up.
The only two problems are: Steiner is on the lower end of the dmg spectrum and his ATK downs are ST. Though you can renew the duration with other ATK down buffs after his is applied and you can alleviate the stress on dmg with 2 strong dmg dealers.
Cid Raines:
Long time no use Cid Raines. He is still an exceptionally strong character even when other characters have caught up with their C90s. Easy millions of dmg and has turn manipulation / delay on top. His C88 oddly does give party wide BRV cap up, so it does help Papalymo get closer to full HP dumps with his non-Xeno moves.
The only problem with Cid here is if not careful his turn manipulation / delay can cause BC to have chain back to back turns, especially when using his S2 / LD that swaps people around / delaying his own next turn etc. So it still requires caution to execute. I put a Quistis CA on Steiner just in case the order needs fixing.
In general, the consecutive turn orb requirement can be fulfilled with Papalymo or Cid Raines with his HP+ derived from LD uses. As long as Steiner is pulled away from the end of queue then it should be fine.
Emperor friend:
It is actually a last resort and ended up not being used. He is actually also very good with his current form of instant turn rate EX for dealing with the orb. Getting him as a friend even after Bahamut summon means you can actively spam his EX 3 times and trigger all those traps as well.
