Diablo 2 Resurrected | AMD Ryzen 5 5600U (Vega) | HD 1080p & 720p
0Diablo 2 Resurrected bring back a classic title to the modern world. Graphics were updated to bring a modern look and feel but that uplifted system requirements to the new modern standard as well.
The remastered Diablo 2 was released in 2021.
The game has 2 graphics modes - classic, unchanged from the original Diablo 2 and new modern (Resurrected) with updated and remastered graphics.
The first, classic mode, can be handled by any modern CPU and GPU, even a 15-year-old PC will not have a problem with it. The update here is the ability to launch the game on modern OS like Windows 10 and 11.
The second, or rather main mode, with updated and remastered graphics, requires a modern PC to handle all new eye-catching features like new lighting, effects and shaders.
I was playing with 3 different characters (Amazon, Paladin, Druid - Summoner) to check and show how the game and Ryzen 5600U perform in different situations. Two locations, Act 2 and Act 3, for comparison in performance.
IN 1080p resolution and low graphics settings Ryzen can deliver on average around 30 fps. Some frame drops can be seen in Act 3 and with a larger number of monsters on the screen what was expected.
In 720p resolution also with low graphics settings, Ryzen can deliver on average 53+ fps. Even with lower resolution the game still looks good.
I would say D2R is playable in both resolutions on 5600U with integrated graphics. The player has to make a choice of what resolution to play that game.
8 GB of RAM is a minimum to play this game, otherwise, you will see huge frame drops due to lack of memory. 16 GB would be the way to go.
Dual-channel will boost performance as well.
Hexa-core CPU is at most utilised in 30% and even that is due to Windows background work. GPU at the other end is utilised to the max.
