Diablo 2: Resurrected (PS4)CO-OP Playthrough/Dark clouds are gathering over the Sanctuary once again
Diablo 2: Resurrected (2021) by Blizzard Entertainment, Blizzard Albany and Vicarious Vision is a literally revamped legend of the hack 'n slash genre, which you can't help but know even if you're not into this type of game.
It is probably one of the few games I have encountered that dominated the sales charts for many years, that never really died, and Diablo 2: Resurrected is its second life.
The game was recorded using an option available on PS4. This means clips with a maximum length of 1 hour in HD Ready quality. It was then slightly edited and converted to Full HD at 60 fps.
In the game, we play as one of seven different heroes whose task is to stop the dark wanderer, the new incarnation of Lord Terror Diablo, who wants to free his two brothers, Mephisto, Lord of Hatred, and Baal, Lord of Destruction, who want to conquer the world of Sanctuary.
It's basically the same game, only visually updated to today's standards. The game is now rendered in full 3D with dynamic lighting, and all character animations and effects accompanying spells and skills have been revamped.
It all looks extremely decent and allows you to fully enjoy this classic once again, just like in the old days.
We had a great time playing it, and that is an undeniable statement.
The only thing that frustrated us was the fact that the potion bar had to be manually refilled each time, which was quite problematic. It's a bit strange that such a laborious mechanic wasn't simplified in some way. Especially on the PS4, playing with a controller, it seemed to be a very clunky and tedious experience. I don't know, maybe we're behind the times and there's a way to do it faster, but we haven't found it.
What else can be said... the game is what it used to be, only prettier. But is it worth it? Yes, because it's a classic that basically shaped the entire genre as we know it today. However, it must be admitted that in terms of gameplay, Diablo 2 lags far behind Path of Exile, which offers much more diverse character development and abilities. Therefore, Diablo 2: Resurrected should be treated as a kind of monument, worth stopping by but not for long.
Overall, we recommend it, but by today's standards, there are better and more complex games available.
