There was actually a deleted scene that was filmed, but it has still never been seen. In it, The McCallisters are waiting to get a flight over to New York when Kevin is tracked down from Peter’s credit card getting charged. Frank complains about Kevin ruining yet another vacation, and Kate and Peter stand up to Frank to finally tell him to stop. In The Plaza lobby, the carpet had been removed so that Macaulay Culkin could slip and slide, and Donald Trump liked it so much that he never had the carpet refitted. In the original film, Kevin visits the World Trade Center, but after 2001, it was removed. It was only after Christmas of 2018 that the scene was restored.
