Jack’s alarm clock is a Panasonic, and that was originally supposed to be the name of the novel this film is based on. Thanks to name being owned and copyrighted by the electronic company, they went with White Noise instead. During the closing credits sequence, you can hear the song, “New Body Rhumba”, being played from LCD Soundsystem. There is a section in the song where Nancy Whang repeatedly chants “Panasonic” in the background. Also, this film is a very close representation of the novel aside from the church hospital and the climactic sequences at the Roadway Motel. Also, in the book, Babette never appears at the motel, never gets shot, and never goes to the hospital with Jack.
