The voice actor for Puss In Boots almost died of a heart attack back in 2017! Antonio Banderas, who’s voiced the character since his first appearance in Shrek 2, reprised his role as the feline vigilante for the sequel to his solo movie, The Last Wish. The movie has been a box office success and has also earned an Oscar nomination which in large part is thanks to the main character's voice actor who explained that a near fatal heart attack allowed him to connect with his part and add more emotional depth to the movie. “It probably was one of the best things that happened in my life, it was like putting glasses on and seeing what was important.” Overall the actor was pleased with the finished product saying “I think it’s a beautiful message, and I think it was done properly."
