Disney’s Create 100 honors next-generation talent with Harlem’s Fashion Row
On September 5th, the next generation of talent across the fashion, music and art industries gathered at Harlem’s historic Apollo Theater for Harlem Fashion Row’s 16th annual style awards and runway show.
A post-show reception was sponsored by Disney’s Create 100, an initiative celebrating 100 years of creativity in Disney storytelling. With entertainment by DJ Ty Alexander, guests were treated to a viewing of works by Coline Creuzot, Clarence Ruth, Taofeek Abijako, Chandricka Carr, Kimminski Adams and Daziah Green. Their pieces will be auctioned off to benefit Make-A-Wish, an organization granting life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses.
“As a designer, it means so much to me just to be part of this program. Why? Because Disney was a great inspiration to me growing up, just as a kid,” said Clarence Ruth, a Create 100 Next Generation Talent Nominee. “And to kind of celebrate their 100th anniversary by giving back I think is the most amazing thing and I’m just blessed to be part of the program.”
