Diwali is a five-day celebration with food, fireworks, special candles, and lamps. And San Francisco-based Indian restaurant Rooh is honoring the festival of lights with delicious food and festive décor.

"Rooh means soul or spirit, it represents the spirit of Indian cuisine, through the dining experience," described ROOH owner Anu Bhambri.

The popular establishment is hailed as one of the most forward-thinking and elegant restaurants in the Bay Area.

"We call it progressive because we use California seasonal produce Indian spices," said ROOH’s Chef de Cuisine Pujan Sarkar.

"Our goal is to keep the flavors of the traditional dish intact, but use the modern produce," added Bhambri.

This year, visit ROOH to celebrate Diwali and learn more about the event as the restaurant’s signature dishes transport you to the festival through your taste buds.

"When they come here and eat with us in Diwali, they will feel they are in India while sitting in San Francisco," said Sarkar.
