DJ Boy, 1990 Kaneko/American Sammy
Okay fighting game on roller skates. Up to 2 simultaneous players can beat the stuffing out of enemy skaters and weird bosses all in the name of revenge for your busted boom box. Special attacks can be made with button combos (leg sweep, roundhouse, etc.), but the best advantage of all is being able to attack an enemy by standing on a slightly higher plane than them and punching them, and they can't hit you! Just don't let them gang up on you or sneak up and grab you. Oddly, voice samples of Wolfman Jack are sprinkled into the game! The Genesis port is more preferable IMO, due largely to the presence of a shop at the end of levels, where you can purchase power-ups, energy boosts, speed, 1ups, etc., whereas the arcade version simply lets you collect stars, not coins, from beating enemies (and you can beat up the 2nd player for stars!), which lead to 1ups eventually. Sequel: B.RAP BOYS.
