Hey players, DJay here with a new fighting game longplay on Capcom's arcade exclusive, Red Earth.

Description of the game:

Red Earth (War-Zard in Japan) is a fantsay-themed fighting game released exclusively in arcades by Capcom in November 1996 on the CPS-III system board, being the first one to run on that hardware. For over 25 years, it remained an arcade exclusive for up until 2022 with the compilation of Capcom Fighting Collection. The main characters all make appearances in later Capcom games as playable fighters or cameos, with Mai-Ling being the only character featured as a cameo for all the other Capcom games she features in. While taking inspiration from Darkstalkers and Street Fighter, it is the only Capcom fighting game to feature extreme violence as it takes the fatality concept from Mortal Kombat such as cutting opponents in half or Kenji ripping out the opponent's heart. Mobi-chan makes an appearance here as well, alongside the Yashichi pinwheel in the form of a mini-game if the player clears the game with 1 credit.

Set in an alternative version of Earth where no technological revolutions take place, a new country began to rise suddenly by evil sorcery. An evil wizard named Scion created this and soon led various monsters on a rampage, leaving destruction wherever they go. The only hope that remains are the 4 warriors, Leo, Kenji, Tessa and Mai-Ling, each with their own missions to carry out and to put an end to Scion once and for all.

Gameplay is similar to other well-known Capcom fighting games, but with extra features to make it stand out. Players can choose to play a single player campaign or take on other players in a 1 on 1 battle (no experience can be gained in multiplayer battle though). The simple objective is depleting the opponent's health to zero, but unlike other games of the same genre, it incorporates an experience system (basically the amount of points the player scores). Damaging the opponent drops experience crystals varying in different quantities by identification of their color and size. Upon earning enough experience, players will unlock new movesets or gain attack or magic effect boosts. Food can also be dropped by either doing damage or opening chests. Magic orbs can also be obtained by opening them and change to different magic types briefly until it disappears. In addition to fighting 8 enemies, players are taken to 2 different bonus levels before fighting the next boss, playing similar to the Street Fighter games. The parry block can absorb attacks without draining your health and can provide a possible counter attack opportunity. After defeating your opponent, you will regain health based on your performance and orbs still intact during the battle. If your health is depleted to zero, you lose and are opted to continue, as well as being provided a password to fully upgrade you, but at the cost of starting over from scratch. Several endings can be achieved depending on the player's actions.

Are you brave enough to slay Scion and his evil army of monsters?
