Domestic Toy Manufacturing Sector Has Taken A Leap Bound When It Comes To Manufacturing
17The domestic toy manufacturing sector is really pushing the Make In India drive..so far the results are also positive and encouraging for the sector. The imports specifically from China have fallen down by 70% in the last 3 years...and the exports have also gone up by 61% in the same period.
But still, the Domestic Toy Manufacturers believe that further, the govt can help the sector to take it to new heights. -
- Include Toys as an important part of the FTAs with foreign countries like the US, UK, Gulf countries, etc
- any incentive or the PLI scheme (with minimum incentive support) will help the domestic players
- develop more Toy clusters across the country, that provides ready and effective infrastructure support.
The govt has already come up with the Quality Control Order ( QCO ) for the toys effective from 1st Jan 2021.. which has helped to curb the imports of toys from China to a great extent.
BIS has also issued licenses to more than 800 domestic players.
