Donkey Kong Land Battery Replacement
I recently picked up a copy of Donkey Kong Land for the OG Game Boy and quickly realized it no longer holds any save games. Every time you turn off the system the saved games are deleted. This is not uncommon as most of these old cartridge based games rely on a lithium watch style battery to keep power to the SRAM chip at all times! Granted as common as it is this is the first time I've actually had to do it! I have many old NES games and several Game Boy games such as Mario Land 2 that while older than this still hold a save!! But really it's just a matter of time before these batteries die and need to be replaced so I best learn how to do it eventually! It didn't go quite as easy as I imagined it would but I got it working in the end.
