Man this really sucks. Destroyed a perfectly good working DMG Game Boy trying to do a back-light and bi-vert mod. I manged to do the bi-vert mod (the part I thought was going to be hardest!) but broke the LCD screen while doing the back-light mod (the part I thought would be easy as I've done it before!)

There were other issues with the 2nd DMG mod also. I tried a replacement case (clear green) that I thought would look cool so I also ordered a special color glass screen replacement cover and special color buttons to make a real custom looking DMG. But the replacement case didn't work out as the quality of it wasn't up to par. So not having the custom color case to use meant the custom color screen cover and buttons also go to waste! I feel like I wasted money only to break that DMG.

Damn.

But the good news is I was able to install the bi-vert mod into my 1st back-lit only DMG and it does look amazing. It really makes a big difference in the contrast ratio. I have to look on the bright side here. My main restored DMG now looks even better.

Update...

Better news! The next day a co-worker gave me his old DMG (for trade on a Game Cube game he wanted) and it was in perfect working condition (other than a yellowing plastic case!) I was able to keep the bi-vert mod in my 1st modded DMG, and do the yellow LED back-light mod on an inverted screen for my 2nd modded DMG. I also decided to go ahead with the clear green case. It's not perfect. But if you have a broken case it's a decent replacement. The buttons are a little loose but it's still perfectly playable.

This video was uploaded (but not published) ending with the bi-vert mod on the 1st DMG but no 2nd DMG as it ended with the broken screen. The good luck with getting another DMG and getting this 2nd mod done happened the next day and the video was re-edited and uploaded again with a happy ending! The clear green mod looks amazing and I'm glad it worked out in the end!
