Inspired by the Reading Gamebow group's Team Reading, I am replaying Doom 64 on ultra hard settings. What is ultra hard you may ask? Further inspired by Decino's Doom 64 play through, it is "Watch Me Die" difficulty with pistol starts, fast monsters, and no mid-level loading. This map, known as "The Spiral", was again challenging due to the sheer amount of pain elementals. Part of the challenge is only having the rocket launcher and super shotgun as viable weapons due to pistol starting. Facing pain elementals with a rocket launcher is almost certain suicide. But I discovered through teleporter trickery, I could rocket the pain elementals from afar. Next map will be "Breakdown!"
