Inspired by the Reading Gamebow group's Team Reading, I am replaying Doom 64 on ultra hard settings. What is ultra hard you may ask? Further inspired by Decino's Doom 64 play through, it is "Watch Me Die" difficulty with pistol starts, fast monsters, and no mid-level loading. I turned this challenge of might, on "No Escape," to a challenge of mind! Grabbing the double shotgun from a pillar turns into a zombiemen trap which killed me many times, so I skipped that! I found a place to cheese the first cyberdemon with a shotgun. Killing the last mancubus spawns a horde of demons, so I left that demon alive. Opening the secret cave leads to a pain elemental trap; no thanks! And picking up the blue armor is another zombiemen trap, which isn't a big deal, but I decided not to risk it. Finally, I was able to cheese one of the last two cyberdemons through the bars. If I was a person of character, I would feel bad for what I have done to this map, but to hell with it haha! Bring on the mother demon!
