Inspired by the Reading Gamebow group's Team Reading, I am replaying Doom 64 on ultra hard settings. What is ultra hard you may ask? Further inspired by Decino's Doom 64 play through, it is "Watch Me Die" difficulty with pistol starts, fast monsters, and no mid-level loading. This map, also known as "Altar of Pain", kept me on my toes. No hitscanners nor lost souls to siphon my health. But there were a lot of corners in this map for me to get stuck in and take damage from fireballs. I am not the best aim so it was tricky saving enough ammo for the main baron fight. And, I ended up skipping some kills so I could save ammo for the final baron at the secret exit. Now onto the secret level!
