https://www.doomworld.com/vb/thread/92574 1996 was the year that changed a lot of FPS games. When I.D. Software under John Carrmack released Quake, a game that set the pc gaming world on fire because it brough rise to the new medium of 3D gaming. Quake style mods for Doom are nothing new. However, This release caught my eye for a few reasons.

Dimensions of the Boomed was released in 2018 by Urthar (Stephen Wadsworth) and was one of the winners of the 2018 Cacoawards, It's a nine level wad that blends Quake and Doom together with a original mapset unrelated to Quake's story but with all of it's visual themes together. The look of the maps with rustic metal and choked with demon spawn is just beautiful, The overall mapset is tough as there's plently of hitscanners and you'll need to memorize running jumps. That being said, Dimensions of the Boomed still is a amazing wad for what it does.
