And with Doom about to turn the big 30 in December, I reflect so much on where this series began and how it will continue for many years to show my love of the wads and mods made by others.
Given a honorable mention as one of the 22 other wads after the runner ups at the 2022 Cacoawards, Nostalgia is a 32 level megawad by Myolden (Alex Decker). Where do I begin with megawad which has become a personal favorite of mine? Well, Nostalgia is everything that embodies a megawad with solid visuals, Alex's spin on classic megawad cliches but made unique with his own style and a OST with tracks by Jimmy, Stewboy and from games like Final Fantasy Tactics.
A particular thing is that Alex named all 32 maps after famous metal tracks from the 2000's and quite a few I remembered since I was a heavy MTV Headbanger's Ball viewer but also a Fuse tv viewer too. Nostalgia has a perfect balance of ammo, armor while keeping the pressure at a moderate tempo while never smothering or stepping out of the player's way, A true true classic here.
