https://www.doomworld.com/idgames/levels/doom/a-c/cringe6 Ouch, the pain, But where's the bruises? I've been digging through Doomworld I.D. Archive to see the first files ever made by well know authors of the Doom Community which will become a part of seasons of this series from now on. Mark Klem should need no introduction as a master musician who composed alongside David Shaw various wads like Memento Mori, Requiem and STRAIN.

Cringe is a Episode 2 replacement by Mark Klem with additional help credited to Eric Sargent who would work on Memento Mori and Memento Mori II, and was released on July 6th 1994. Being a 1994 wad, Mark's mapping isn't exactly.. great to put it lightly but it was, afterall, their first work. Cringe is also notable for featuring music Mark Klem composed that would later see the light of day through both Memento Mori megawads.

Now, for the maps themselves, aside from their chunky/rough looks, the placement of ammo and monsters and keys are much better then the typical 1994 wad, and, on a side note, actually have marked doors for keys which wasn't as common at the time for PWADS. I find Cringe, though rough, to be fascinating.
