Fallout 4 - Apocalypse Wow
0I can see it now, a vision of paradise by the nuclear lights. RPG games are always a staple for me as it lets you build your gameplay the way you want it and the Fallout series? It should need no introduction considering the series has been around since the DOS PC times and the recent Fallout show straight from Amazon themselves, so now its time to revisit a game I had pre ordered but stopped playing for the longest time due to technical issues, Fallout 4.
Fallout 4 was originally released on November 10th 2015 for PS4/Xbox One/PC with a next gen upgrade releasing on April 25th 2024 for PS5/Xbox Series X. The game itself is a continuation from Fallout 3 taking place 10 years after that game and 210 years a nuclear strike hits the United States, The Year is 2287 in the State of Massachusetts, now known as the "The Commonwealth" and we're either a Male or Female character we can customize who has entered Vault 111 in our neighborhood, After the murder of our spouse and the kidnapping of our son Shawn, This wasteland is never going to be the same.
Playable from either Third or First Person, Fallout 4 is a open world rpg shooter game that is more simplified in terms of RPG mechanics vs other Fallout games including predecessor Fallout 3, The trust Pip-Boy acts as our weapon/item storage and keeps track of quests/stats/and our staple S.P.E.C.I.A.L. skills we can upgrade by leveling up. V.A.T.S. is back though I had issues getting the timing and being a heavy FPS player I found it more useful to dash and fire at the head on enemies.
Fallout 4 has its moments that do kind of piss me off, especially when a hostile can fire at you from above or below a catwalk, how easy you can lose the support of your companions or when you are blown up by a mine I didn't see. Compass will always point towards a box symbol indicating the location where you need to go, while the pip-boy's map allow you to place a waypoint though I didn't really need to use it.
Fallout 4 is also a bittersweet game too, reminding me of a time 9 years ago when the ps4 had such issues with this recent release at the time, I put it away and sold my disk thinking I'd never be able to enjoy it again but seeing this upgrade gave me interest in it. There's additional DLC such as Nuka World, Far Harbor which add additional quests and other good stuff, and Platinum hunters should feel well at home in the ruins of what was once the State of Massachusetts
