DosBox Movie Codec doesn't Install on Windows 7 64 bit fix.
If you have Windows 7 64 bit, you are wondering why the video codec isn't installing. The reason for it is because the program was never meant to be used on Windows 7; however, you can trick the program into thinking you are using Windows Vista. In this video, I am going to show you how to do this, so you can record using Dosbox.
1. Create a ZMBV.inf file.
Here is the entire code, copy and paste it onto a notepad.
[DefaultInstall.ntx86]
CopyFiles=ZMBV.Files.Inf,ZMBV.Files.Dll
AddReg=ZMBV.RegNT
UpdateInis=ZMBV.INIs
[DefaultUnInstall]
DelFiles=ZMBV.Files.Dll,ZMBV.Files.Inf,ZMBV.Files.Ini
DelReg=ZMBV.Reg9x
UpdateInis=ZMBV.INIs.Del
[DefaultUnInstall.ntx86]
DelFiles=ZMBV.Files.Dll,ZMBV.Files.Inf,ZMBV.Files.Ini
DelReg=ZMBV.RegNT
UpdateInis=ZMBV.INIs.Del
[SourceDisksNames]
1="Zip Motion Block Video codec","",1
[SourceDisksFiles]
ZMBV.INF=1
[DestinationDirs]
ZMBV.Files.Inf=17
ZMBV.Files.Dll=11
ZMBV.Files.Ini=25
[ZMBV.Files.Inf]
zmbv.inf
[ZMBV.Files.Dll]
zmbv.dll
[ZMBV.Files.Ini]
zmbv.ini
[ZMBV.Reg9x]

system.ini, drivers32,, "VIDC.ZMBV=zmbv.dll"
[ZMBV.INIs.Del]
system.ini, drivers32, "VIDC.ZMBV=zmbv.dll"
2. Create a folder in C:\Vista\Inf
3. Place the ZMBV.inf file into C:\Vista\Inf FOLDER.
4. Go to Dosbox on Programs "Start"-"All Programs"-"Dos-Box 0.74"-"Extras"-"Video"-Right click on "install movie codec" and select runs as administrator".
5. Run Dosbox by clicking on it on your desktop icon.
6. Press "Alt"+"Ctrl"+"F5" to start recording and press the same configuration of keys to stop recording.
7. To view the recorded videos to back to Dosbox in the programs. "Start"-"All Programs"-"Dos Box 0.74"-"Extras" -Click on "Screen Shots and recordings".
Note:
You can do this on all versions of Windows from Windows 7 Prof Sp1 32/64 bits, Windows 7 Ultimate 32/64 bits, Windows 8 32/64 bits, Windows 8.1 32/64 bits, and Windows 10.
On Windows 10, you can record your videos from Dosbox; however, you cannot view it on the Windows 10 media player for some reason. If you view the video on another version of Windows or upload it on Youtube, it can be viewed.
