In this video, we start off by creating a character. The traits that you can choose from are the gender, body type, hairstyle, hair color, face type, skin color, and eye color. After doing all this, I name my hero Heorot, consistent with several of my other Dragon Quest playthroughs.

After the character creation, a brief monologue takes place (time index 2:19). After that, we visit the village of Angel Falls (time index 3:04). Heorot is with his mentor, Aquila. They converse briefly before they notice a potential tragedy! They swoop down to do heroic battle with a Cruelcumber and two Slimes. There's no way to lose this fight with the overpowered Aquila along.

After the battle, another scene takes place (time index 6:21). The villagers are safe again! More than that, Heorot receives something very important from the grateful Erinn.

With that, Heorot and Aquila fly home to the Observatory (time index 8:14). Something like Zenithia, I would say. When the dynamic duo returns home (time index 8:59), Aquila tells Heorot his next goal before leaving on other business.

Just like that, only nine minutes into the game, the hero is free to move around! On floor L1 of the Observatory, Heorot can save the game in the prayer room to the north. Several Celestrians are available for conversation. Some of them seem to be quite unimpressed with us mortals. It is important to remember what one says: Celestrians are forbidden to stand against their superiors.

Talking with the southwest Celestrian on L1 will refill Heorot's HP and MP (time index 12:19).

In the southeast room on L1, a red treasure chest contains a Chimaera Wing (time index 16:57). The pots and barrels here may contain random treasures.

In the library on floor L2 of the Observatory, Heorot finds his teacher, Aquila, chatting with Columba (time index 23:56). He eavesdrops on a most interesting conversation. They also mention an important name to remember.
