6Had a bit of a scare before the mod proved me wrong at the last minute. Could've sworn those tanks were stuck in their pathing. Dunno if loading a save did fix it. Either way, it's closing time. Quite a journey that we've undertook, nearly a full year's worth. Makes me somewhat curious of the mod's history, even if unclevadim (the dev) appears to have departed from the modding sphere.
Hard to say if it's "the best mod", though I can see why some folks say so. Feels a bit like playing a long lost expansion pack for the original game at times, even if the design can be flawed in parts. Visual dissonance was unavoidable, and the lack of proper crediting for the assets was particularly unfortunate. Not even a courtesy namedump of which places the mod took assets from.
I might seem aggressive for dunking on a mod not having proper credits, but it's the difference between people appreciating your original work and people assuming everything in the mod is taken from somewhere else. I haven't even mention the possibility of other community members contributing their work that might've been wiped from the aether thanks to the lack of credits.
With that said, it is hard to deny what unclevadim did manage to put together. Several hours worth of custom missions with scripted sequences and an entire thematic change from the SAS to the Soviets. A total conversion is a total conversion, even if I can't tell who actually made what. I can see myself maybe replaying this again years in the future, though probably with a less buggy set up.
