Turns out that he's the demon giving the evil pastor his demonic powers. This is the clue I didn't notice from earlier, which went onto the evidence wall, that I never would have picked up on. So, though this playthrough of the game has been blind, in this case I did look up a simple guide to find what the word I was supposed to spell was. I just wanted to know the word, not even how to make the wheel work right. That I solved myself. I'm sure some purists would complain about that, but it's the internet age. I'm going to look that up instead of brute-forcing it like everyone had to years ago.
